Tx-Star Speech Language Services has been serving schools since 2010 and is currently partnered with over 40 school districts plus a multitude of educational institutions and regional cooperatives. Through our partnerships with a growing number of Texas schools, we are actively recruiting at the start of and all through each school year!

We are looking for Speech Language Pathologists (SLP’s) to join our growing team in Houston, TX. Our Speech Language Pathologists play a vital role in providing top-notch speech and language therapy services to students ranging from preschool through high school. The SLP will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support students' communication needs, thereby facilitating their full participation in educational programs. We are currently offering up to $65/hour for full-time SLP's in Houston, TX.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. Employ a variety of diagnostic tools and practices to accurately identify student needs.

  • Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Development: Develop, implement, and adjust IEPs or 504 Plans for students with speech and language impairments, ensuring that goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound.

  • Therapy and Intervention: Provide direct therapy in school settings, utilizing evidence-based practices to address speech, language, voice, fluency, and other related disorders. Engage students in activities and exercises designed to mitigate their impairments.

  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals (e.g., occupational therapists, psychologists) to implement comprehensive support strategies for students. Provide guidance and training to school staff and families to support speech and language development.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and confidential records of evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as professional ethical standards.

  • Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest research, tools, and techniques in the field of speech-language pathology. Participate in professional development opportunities and apply new knowledge to practice.

  • Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust treatment plans as needed to support student growth and development.

  • Stay up-to-date with federal and state regulations regarding special education and assessment practices.

  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and team members to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on goals and strategies.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, session notes, and progress reports.

  • Flexible Part-Time, Full-Time, Hybrid, and On-site opportunities available.

  • Caseload age range between Pre-K to12th grade.


 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders.

  • Valid Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

  • CF’s are welcomed; Supervisor can be provided.

  • Previous experience working in a school setting or with pediatric populations is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of federal and state special education laws.

  • Experience working with individuals with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, and emotional/behavioral disorders.

  • Familiarity of Special Education principles and practices.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff as well parents of students.

  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to multiple school locations as needed.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in music therapy and special education.

  • Bilingual - Spanish language skills are highly valued.

About the role:
The teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will provide instructional support to students identified as deaf or hard-of-hearing (AI) in order to ensure a quality educational program that is based on federal and state standards as well as sound instructional practices.

What you have:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college/university.
  • Experience with students with hearing loss. Maybe as part of University training.
  • A Valid Texas teaching certificate as a teacher of the deaf/hard-of-hearing or teacher of students with auditory impairments.

Bonus skills:

  • Knowledge of the unique communication needs of students with an auditory impairment.
  • Knowledge of various types of hearing loss, communication needs, and adaptive/assistive devices and equipment used by students with auditory impairments.
  • Knowledge of sign language and the ability to instruct students to speak/understand sign language.
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction at all grade levels.
  • Knowledge and ability to participate in the ARD process.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with campus teachers to assure that AI students are able to participate in classroom activities with necessary accommodations.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

We are seeking skilled and passionate School Psychologists to work in San Antonio, TX school-based settings, with students of various ages and possessing diverse learning needs. Our School Psychologists will be responsible for administering assessments and evaluating students to determine eligibility for special education services.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of students to determine eligibility for special education services.

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.

  • For students qualifying for special education services, assist in providing needed services through the use of consultation, assessments, counseling, problem-solving, and educational strategies.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to ensure appropriate educational services for students such as classroom intervention plans.

  • Conduct re-evaluations of students as required by federal and state regulations.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, evaluations, and IEP’s in accordance with ISD and state regulations.

  • Participate in meetings with parents and other stakeholders to discuss assessment results and IEPs.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • Weekend and Evening assignments available.



REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in School Psychology or a related field.

  • Valid Texas certification as a School Psychologist.

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a School Psychologist in a school setting.

  • Experience administering and interpreting a variety of assessment tools, including cognitive and academic assessments.

  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding special education services and assessment practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff.

  • Flexibility, adaptability, and strong time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.

  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to multiple school locations as needed.

  • Bilingual language skills in English and Spanish are highly preferred.

We are seeking skilled and passionate Behavior Support Specialists to work in Houston, TX school-based settings, with students of all ages.

 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement behavior interventions with students as needed using approved behavioral strategies and positive reinforcements to de-escalate negative behaviors.

  • Assist students with peer facilitation and training for the purpose of teaching appropriate social behaviors.

  • Assist students with following routines and transitions for the purpose of providing proactive support to diminish negative student behaviors.

  • Monitor and maintain supervision of students as assigned within a variety of school environments such as to and from events, classes, lunch, and other activities as needed according to approved policies and procedures.

  • Inform teacher(s) of any pertinent information concerning students behavior.

  • Direct students into safe activities and functions.

  • Assist a teacher in implementing lesson plans by providing positive learning experiences, including large or small groups. May assist with classroom management, computer instruction, and other instructional support.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in working with students with disabilities.

  • Minimum of high school diploma.

  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, etc.).

  • Highly preferred: Certified as a Registered Behavior Technician in Texas.

  • Preferred: BCBA - Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in working with students with disabilities.

  • Minimum of high school diploma.

  • Highly preferred: Certified as a Registered Behavior Technician in Texas.

We are looking for Speech Language Pathologists (SLP’s) to join our growing team in San Antonio, TX. Our Speech Language Pathologists play a vital role in providing top-notch speech and language therapy services to students ranging from preschool through high school. The SLP will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support students' communication needs, thereby facilitating their full participation in educational programs.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. Employ a variety of diagnostic tools and practices to accurately identify student needs.

  • Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Development: Develop, implement, and adjust IEPs or 504 Plans for students with speech and language impairments, ensuring that goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound.

  • Therapy and Intervention: Provide direct therapy in school settings, utilizing evidence-based practices to address speech, language, voice, fluency, and other related disorders. Engage students in activities and exercises designed to mitigate their impairments.

  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals (e.g., occupational therapists, psychologists) to implement comprehensive support strategies for students. Provide guidance and training to school staff and families to support speech and language development.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and confidential records of evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as professional ethical standards.

  • Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest research, tools, and techniques in the field of speech-language pathology. Participate in professional development opportunities and apply new knowledge to practice.

  • Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust treatment plans as needed to support student growth and development.

  • Stay up-to-date with federal and state regulations regarding special education and assessment practices.

  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and team members to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on goals and strategies.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, session notes, and progress reports.

  • Caseload age range between Pre-K to 12th grade.

 


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders.

  • Valid Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

  • CF’s are welcomed; Supervisor can be provided.

  • Previous experience working in a school setting or with pediatric populations is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of federal and state special education laws.

  • Experience working with individuals with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, and emotional/behavioral disorders.

  • Familiarity of Special Education principles and practices.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.

  • Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Development: Develop, implement, and adjust IEPs or 504 Plans for students with speech and language impairments, ensuring that goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound.

  • Therapy and Intervention: Provide direct therapy in school settings, utilizing evidence-based practices to address speech, language, voice, fluency, and other related disorders. Engage students in activities and exercises designed to mitigate their impairments.

  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals (e.g., occupational therapists, psychologists) to implement comprehensive support strategies for students. Provide guidance and training to school staff and families to support speech and language development.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and confidential records of evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as professional ethical standards.

  • Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest research, tools, and techniques in the field of speech-language pathology. Participate in professional development opportunities and apply new knowledge to practice.

About the role:
The teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will provide instructional support to students identified as deaf or hard-of-hearing (AI) in order to ensure a quality educational program that is based on federal and state standards as well as sound instructional practices.

What you have:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college/university.
  • Experience with students with hearing loss. Maybe as part of University training.
  • A Valid Texas teaching certificate as a teacher of the deaf/hard-of-hearing or teacher of students with auditory impairments.

Bonus skills:

  • Knowledge of the unique communication needs of students with an auditory impairment.
  • Knowledge of various types of hearing loss, communication needs, and adaptive/assistive devices and equipment used by students with auditory impairments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of students to determine eligibility for special education services.

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.

  • For students qualifying for special education services, assist in providing needed services through the use of consultation, assessments, counseling, problem-solving, and educational strategies.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to ensure appropriate educational services for students such as classroom intervention plans.

  • Conduct re-evaluations of students as required by federal and state regulations.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, evaluations, and IEP’s in accordance with ISD and state regulations.

  • Participate in meetings with parents and other stakeholders to discuss assessment results and IEPs.

  • Other related duties as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in School Psychology or a related field.

  • Valid Texas certification as a School Psychologist.

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a School Psychologist in a school setting.

About the role:
The teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will provide instructional support to students identified as deaf or hard-of-hearing (AI) in order to ensure a quality educational program that is based on federal and state standards as well as sound instructional practices.

What you have:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college/university.
  • Experience with students with hearing loss. Maybe as part of University training.
  • A Valid Texas teaching certificate as a teacher of the deaf/hard-of-hearing or teacher of students with auditory impairments.

Bonus skills:

  • Knowledge of the unique communication needs of students with an auditory impairment.
  • Knowledge of various types of hearing loss, communication needs, and adaptive/assistive devices and equipment used by students with auditory impairments.
  • Knowledge of sign language and the ability to instruct students to speak/understand sign language.
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction at all grade levels.
  • Knowledge and ability to participate in the ARD process.

We are seeking skilled and passionate School Psychologists to work in Dallas, TX school-based settings, with students of various ages and possessing diverse learning needs. Our School Psychologists will be responsible for administering assessments and evaluating students to determine eligibility for special education services.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of students to determine eligibility for special education services.

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.

  • For students qualifying for special education services, assist in providing needed services through the use of consultation, assessments, counseling, problem-solving, and educational strategies.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to ensure appropriate educational services for students such as classroom intervention plans.

  • Conduct re-evaluations of students as required by federal and state regulations.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, evaluations, and IEP’s in accordance with ISD and state regulations.

  • Participate in meetings with parents and other stakeholders to discuss assessment results and IEPs.

  • Other related duties as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in School Psychology or a related field.

  • Valid Texas certification as a School Psychologist.

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a School Psychologist in a school setting.

  • Experience administering and interpreting a variety of assessment tools, including cognitive and academic assessments.

  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding special education services and assessment practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff.

  • Flexibility, adaptability, and strong time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.

  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to multiple school locations as needed.

The teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will provide instructional support to students identified as deaf or hard-of-hearing (AI) in order to ensure a quality educational program that is based on federal and state standards as well as sound instructional practices.

What you have:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college/university.
  • Experience with students with hearing loss. Maybe as part of University training.
  • A Valid Texas teaching certificate as a teacher of the deaf/hard-of-hearing or teacher of students with auditory impairments.

TX-STAR has been serving school districts since 2010 and has serviced over 40 school districts and a multitude of other agencies. Our staff are highly trained and have experience in educational environments, and more specifically the roles involved in special education. This experience working with all disciplines of Special Education provides unique insight into working with districts and making correct matches between contract service providers and the district.

We have some stellar schools in Texas that we are continuing and actively recruiting for at the start of and all through each school year!

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supports classroom environment by fluent interpretation, signed or oral, to facilitate communication effectively to and by students in the classroom

  • Attains specialized vocabulary for student classes prior to class presentation

  • Assists all students as support facilitators/interpreters in the inclusion model of education identified and uses instructional accommodations and curricular modifications in effective instructional practice

  • Reports pertinent information using standardized reporting tools as identified by the school

  • Maintains confidentiality at all times

  • Performs all required documentation in a timely manner

  • Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned

     

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited university and Interpreting Certification; BEI-Basic, RID-CSC, CI, CT, or CI/CT

  • Experience interpreting ASL in the educational setting

We are looking for Certified Special Education Teachers to join our growing team in San Antonio. As a contract Special Education Teacher, you will provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.

  • Design and adapt instructional materials and methods to address the unique learning goals and needs of each student, ensuring accessibility and inclusion.

  • Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities, utilizing various teaching techniques and strategies to promote academic, social, and emotional growth.

  • Assess and monitor student progress regularly, employing appropriate assessment tools and techniques, and making necessary adjustments to instruction.

  • Utilize assistive technologies and resources to enhance student engagement and facilitate learning.



REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.

  • Master's degree is preferred.

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff.
